It was brought to my attention that we had some inaccurate numbers in the June 21, 2024 PEH newsletter and has since been deleted.
In truncating data, we posted the number of Households with Child as 421 and the accurate number is 130. The avoid that in the future, we will share documents and links as we receive them and as they are and offer our assistance in reviewing and understanding the data.
As we wait for HUD to release the 2025 PIT numbers, we want to share with you the tool we use to view and analyze PIT numbers. See the attached 2007-2024 PIT Counts by CoC. This document can also be found here Annual Homelessness Assessment Report.
“This report outlines the key findings of the Point-In-Time (PIT) count and Housing Inventory Count (HIC) conducted in January 2024. Specifically, this report provides 2024 national, state, and CoC-level PIT and HIC estimates of homelessness, as well as estimates of chronically homeless persons, homeless veterans, and homeless children and youth.”
If you have any questions about this document or would like assistance processing the data (utilizing the tabs Generate Chart or Generate Table), please contact Carolyn S. Keyser, HMIS System Administrator at ckeyser@letsendhomelessness.org 585-405-5035.
Provider Resource
The attached document Managing Uncertainty for CoCs and Homeless Services Providers was shared with NYS CoC’s on Friday 4/11/25. It is a useful tool and provides concrete steps for all providers.
Abstract:
This report provides steps for how Continuums of Care (CoCs) and homeless
response system providers can manage uncertainty. It covers processing new
information as an organization, communicating with clients following trauma informed
principles, managing CoC grants, and adapting budgets.
Take care and have a good week.
