Good afternoon HMIS Users,
As many of you know, HUD has updated the HMIS Data Standards from the FY 2024 version to the FY 2026 version, which went into effect on October 1, 2025. WellSky has upgraded our HMIS to comply with the FY2026 Data Standards. Some of the changes took effect immediately on 10/1/2025. For the other changes, I will need to update all assessments in HMIS to comply with the standards.
These updates will be happening over the next two weeks. The most significant change is the retirement of the Gender field and the addition of the Sex field, which will now only be located under the Client Profile tab. This change is already in effect. I will send another email when all changes have been completed.
I’m attaching a document detailing the changes in the FY 2026 HUD HMIS Data Standards. This document also tells you which changes are already active. Please review these changes.
We will also be updating the HMIS data entry forms. When they are complete, I will send out another email and have them available to download from our website.
All APR’s uploaded into Sage must be in the new FY 2026 format. If your APR in Sage was in progress before October 1, 2025, and you already uploaded your HMIS data, you will need to redo that piece.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me.
Thanks,
Carolyn Carolyn S. Keyser
