MCC – Pathways to College

|

Starting in spring 2021, MCC is offering 2 exciting new grant -funded programs: Pathways to College and Strong Foundations.

Pathways to College offers individuals who have not graduated from high school or earned a high school equivalency diploma the ability to earn 24 college credits toward the NYS HSE diploma and an MCC certificate. It typically takes 4 semesters to complete both credentials. Successful students may take those credentials to get great jobs, or opt to continue their education, but with the ability to receive greater federal financial aid.

Strong Foundation is a full semester program in developmental math and English. Strong Foundations ESOL is a full semester program in ESL with an optional developmental math component. These programs help students build their skills to better prepare them for college level math and English.

MCC offers an array of supports for Pathways to College and Strong Foundations students to help them succeed, including a student advocate who coordinates services.

Attached are flyers and a short power point presentation. For more information, please email: pathwaystocollege@monroecc.edu or strongfoundations@monroecc.edu.
