A Coordinated Entry Equity Leadership Committee is forming. The purpose of the committee is to ensure our approaches within the homeless system are equitable and that services are accessible to all who need them. The team will be representative of the populations that we serve with a specific focus on BIPOC populations and persons with disabilities. Additionally, this group must include meaningful representation from people with lived experience of homelessness and the trauma associated with being impacted by homelessness and/or racism.
I recognize that many of you are active members of multiple committees within the homeless system; therefore. Please share this information with direct staff and others within your organization whose expertise would be vital in this important work. This is a wonderful leadership opportunity for those who may not otherwise have the chance to participate, and members will be providing key information as we continue to iterate our Coordinated Entry system. Following a Human-Centered Design approach puts the focus on those most affected by decisions and policies, and we want those voices to inform each new step of the process. We will be compensating people with lived expertise. (compensation options to be determined).
Please share this with members of your team. If you have current or former program participants or staff that are interested and willing to participate on this committee, have them contact: Ryan McIntosh at rmcintosh@ccsi.org
