Housing and Urban Development (HUD) requires that CoCs conduct an annual count (Point In Time) of people experiencing
homelessness who are sheltered in emergency shelters, transitional housing programs, and Safe Havens or living outside on a single night each year. The Point In Time count is conducted the last week in January every year and counts the homeless in Monroe County, New York.

1,194 people were homeless that night. Out of these:
133 families with children under 18
Equal to 444 people (171 adults and 273 children)
744 adults
Out of these:
- 175 are over 55+
- 219 have a serious mental illness
- 183 have a substance use disorder
- 94 are survivors of domestic violence
- 73 are living outside
273 children
