You’re Invited: SNAP Town Hall & Resource Fair
April 29th | 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM
Downtown Campus | 321 State Street

Dear Community Partners,

I hope you are all doing well. I’m reaching out to share an idea that was just brought forward by the college and to see if your organization might be interested in being part of it. We are hoping to organize a town hall–style conversation focused on the new ABAWD work requirements and what these changes may mean for members of our community. The goal is to bring community partners together on campus so our students and neighbors can hear directly from the agencies doing this work and better understand how this policy change may affect them as they navigate SNAP and other supports.

Along with the town hall conversation, we are hoping to include an resource fair component where agencies can share more about the work they do and connect directly with attendees. This would be an opportunity for organizations to meet our students and community members, talk about the services and programs you offer, and share volunteer opportunities for those who are looking for ways to meet ABAWD requirements. We really hope this creates space for people to have real conversations, ask questions, and build relationships with local organizations in person, rather than having to navigate online systems or portals on their own.

Right now, we are simply trying to gauge interest. This idea was just proposed yesterday, so we will likely be working on a tight timeline, but we are hopeful that with the strength of our community partnerships we can bring together something meaningful and supportive for our campus and the broader community.

Please let me know if this is something your agency might be interested in participating in. We will share more details and keep everyone updated as soon as we have a confirmed date.

Thank you, as always, for the work you do in our community. I am truly grateful for our partnerships and the opportunity to collaborate.

Fondly,
