Point in Time Count – THANK YOU!!!!

|

Each year during the last week of January, Partners Ending Homelessness (PEH) as the CoC Lead for Monroe County conducts a count of the unsheltered homeless across Monroe County. The 2024 annual Point in Time (PIT) Count was conducted on Thursday, January 26th. More than 70 people completed surveys or observation reportsnthis year. Each person who was encountered recieved a gift bag that included personal care items, cold weather gear, a one day bus pass and a McDonald’s gift card.

PEH sincerely thanks everyone who participated in the 2024 PIT. Without the assistance of community members, we would not be able to complete a complete count. Thank you to all that did the actual count, to those who donated items for the gift bags, to those that helped pack the bags.

PEH still has work to do before we can release the PIT count numbers to the community and to HUD that ensure accurate and unduplicated data. The sheltered PIT count is completed using the Homeless Management Information System (HMIS) and there are a small number of programs that need to complete paper forms to provide data for the count. We will be providing a report to the community as soon we are able to finalize numbers.

Thank you again to all who participated!
