Reducing Barriers From a Criminal Record – Fair Housing Protections

|

Reducing Barriers from a Criminal Record (Fair Housing Protections), Thursday June 1, 2023, 1-2 PM at the Central Library

Arrest and conviction records can create significant barriers and challenges for people seeking safe, affordable housing. The Center for Community Alternatives, Judicial Process Commission, and Legal Assistance of Western New York present “Know Your Rights: Fair Housing Protections.” Come and learn about your rights so you are not unfairly discriminated against when filling out rental applications.

Attendees will also learn why it is important to know exactly what is on your Rap sheet and how to get a copy for free so you can correct any errors.

Registration is here: https://calendar.libraryweb.org/event/10724490 but walk-ins are welcome. For more information refer to the attached brochure or contact the Outreach Department at 585-428-8313.
